Exercise Support Thread Week of 1/25/2009
Welcome to another week of giving glory to our God through our maintenance of His temple, our bodies. May your workouts this week truly honor Him.
It's time to set goals for the week. This week, my goals will be the same as last week: run 23 miles, including a long run. I ran 3 miles this morning on the treadmill. I plan to do my long run, 8 miles, tomorrow morning, as I'm off work all this week.
Next?

 Me next!
This week, my goal will be to walk/run 36 miles and alternate days with ab & core floor exercises and free weight training. 200 crunches per day was hardly a cake walk so I’m sticking to that number for the time being.
I hope you enjoy your time off from work

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 1/25/2009
Hi everyone;
My goals are to run 8 miles...since I'm easing back into it. Maybe more, we shall see. I also would like to do three days of upper body weight training. I have a great weight training book that I'll be using ....hope we all reach our goals!
GO STEELERS. Sorry, just had to add that in there.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 1/25/2009
Last weeks cycle increase was 12 lbs...7 now gone, and no, that was not a bicycle, and i plan on not running anywhere, but i do plan on seeing my doctor for test results done 2 weeks ago.
Finally i can be sent out to a urologist to address operational bladder controle issues that have home bound me since june.
Was ashamed to discuss this with doctor originally, so this was the delay. I also want to get other tests done to find out answers and plans for the innitial bogging down of my one ankle.
Both of these have limited me geographically indoors, and i am feeling the dark coud over head, and i am sure i have cabin fever too...the need to get out, without pain or diapers...oy
Another reason why the "Y" was not a go ahead a bit ago.

I'm sorry, Rammy. I'll be praying for you, that you'll be feeling better soon.

Rammy ~
- small steps at first and then bigger ones -
I'm getting a bit of cabin fever too. I pray all will be better soon.
Hang in there.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 1/25/2009
Beautiful, you going for 36 miles? I am SO impressed! You go, girl!
I'm impressed with you, too, Sharon (as usual), for setting the goal of 8 miles. That's awesome.
Well, I did my long run thus morning, 8 miles. It rained all night, so the ground was pretty wet. So I drove over to the community college where I did my long run last week. That was good. I set a new record: 1:07:05

36 miles is amazing, Beautiful--that is impressive to me, too.
I am looking forward to running tonight--wish me luck!

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 1/25/2009
Oh no! We'll just have to see what happens by the end of the week. I'm projecting that next week will have much smaller goals. My schedule is already set to be a busy one.
It is good to have goals but the truth is that we can only live one day at a time - rather one moment at a time.
Those new socks and running shoes are like heaven! No more blisters or sore piglets.

I got some good running socks about a year and a half ago, and, WOW, what a difference. Like you say, no more blisters.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 1/25/2009
Hi Beautiful--Hi Michael!
I went back to an old favorite tonight...SPINNING. It was great! I decided against running...not because I didn't want to, but by the time I got home from work, it was getting dark...I don't like running in the dark, that's just me. So...I did my old spinning routine (tape)...and went 7 miles in 30 minutes. (with steep uphill climbs!) My goal is to get to 12 miles in 40 minutes. It will probably take me a few weeks, of steadily working it back into my workouts.
Tomorrow, I run though! I'll be thinkin' of you guys!
Regarding socks--couldn't agree more! What types of running shoes do you wear? I wear Saucony...love 'em! Would never go back to New Balance since buying these. Just curious what brands you like.
Have a blessed week.

The very thought of running in the dark seems nightmarish. I've never tried spinning. It looks like a really good workout. Use of my recumbent bike and road bicyle are the closest I've come to spinning it out.
Shoes? Nike Air
Socks? Nike and Thorlos
Mike~ Congrats on your new speed record. You'd be running almost a full circle around me on the track I guess my body prefers a long distance compared to speed.

Hey everybody!
My goal for the week is 10 miles, and to do my pilates workout 3 days. It's a busy week, so hopefully I'll be able to squeeze it all in!
