I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate ice.
Frosty, steep hills that make you fall make me want to join a monastery in the Saharan Desert. Or drive an enormous SUV until I die to exacerbate global warming.

Re: I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate ice.
Or you could move to south Louisiana and have the A/C running in late January.
Everything is relative. I don't find having to run the A/C in December or January fun. But every time one of those massive cold fronts hits y'all up north, we get a massive warm front ahead of it that raises our temps up to 78 with humidity up in the 90% range. It ain't fun to have on a jacket one day and short sleeves the next............not to mention tornados in March and April or hurricanes in August/September.
St. Joseph's Abbey (Benedictine) at St. Benedict, LA is an hour's drive east of me. They run the A/C far more than they heat the abbey.
Me? I liike cold weather. It is much better than 98 degrees with humidity up in the 90s or 78 degrees with humidity up in the 90s.

Ice is bad enough where the gound is level. I don't have to deal with hills much here on the prairie but I sympathize.

Hey, things could be worse. Your pipes could freeze and you be without water for weeks!

I can feel your tension. Try to find a safe place and stay put 'til it all melts. It will melt.

I would, except I have classes. Two of my university classes is on a steep hill. I'm currently writing an angry letter to whoever is in charge of school cancellation. They didn't put salt down, and there's only railing for half the way there.

That is too bad. Someone should have taken this into consideration. I was in an icy situation once that required I get down on my knees and sort of lunge and crawl sort of to safely to reach my destination. Take the lawn or any rough surface rather than the slick sidewalk if you can.

I am with you on this. Where is global warming when we need it? Be warned. Ice anxiety gets worse as one ages.. I am thinking about getting those spikes that strap on one's shoes to navigate across the parking lot.
