Any Bare Escentuals Fans Out There?
One of my biggest (if not biggest) vice, besides Dr. Pepper, is Bare Escentuals cosmetics. For those of you who have not heard what it is, it is mineral makeup without all of those weird chemicals. I have been using it for about seven years and I love it.
So now, as I am typing this, I am watchingi QVC and am waiting for my BE Todays' Special Value. I probably have more lipsticks and glosses, enough to, unfortunately, stain some chalices, but, the color is natural and it is easy to clean.

I bought a kit but I guess I am too much of a klutz. I can't get any coverage and just make a mess. I really wanted to like it.

I messed up, too, the first few times. The problem is that the brush that comes with the kit doesn't really work that well. The handy-buki brush is better.
What you might want to do, if you still have the kit, is shake a little bit of the product onto the lid. Then, swirl your brush onto the lid to pick up the product, tap the excess and start buffing it on to your face. I do mess up from time to time, but, it does get better.
Use the flawless face brush for the mineral veil and apply the same technique. Also, if worse comes to worse, go to Sephora at the Galleria. They will show you how to do it.

Corki, Bare Escentuals is on right now on QVC. At 11PM, our time, Leslie Blodgette will be showing the new TSV. In it is included the foundation. If you can hang around long enough, watch the way she is going to apply the makeup. That is how I learned.

Now that's a tip I can use. Not to mention, I was looking for a good excuse to go to the Galleria.
I still have the kit and the video. I have used Clinique's powder for years which uses the same tap, swirl, buff technique. But it is for setting, not for coverage. I am post-menopausal and have patch redness which I can't seem to cover with BE.
I'll try Sephora or look for the next time they have a demo day at Ulta.

Re: Any Bare Escentuals Fans Out There?
I broke down and bought the TSV. It is actually quite nice and I should be getting it next week. My PV knows about my vice and just rolls his eyes. He caught me putting the stuff on in the sacristy while I was getting ready for a big diocesan Mass. He looked at the bag and quipped "Not my shades." I told him that I had colors for all of the liturgical seasons. He laughed.
Patience and Love, do you own a makeup company?

Just like I am uberfan of BE. My dad actually went to San Antonio with me when Leslie Blogette went to San Antonio. I told him to wander around La Cantera. We got there early enough that I was the fourth in line to meet her.
She is sooooo tiny and really nice. She was very gracious and just about what you see on TV when she is on QVC.
I had been using everything from Bobbi Brown to Clinique to Laura Mercier to Stila and my face kept looking blotchy. I finally broke down and bought BE. Even though I'll occasionally use Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, Bobby Brown, Stila and Vincent Longo lip products and Too Faced and the Balm mascara, my default is BE.
The reason I was putting on my BE in the sacristy was because I had been running around all over town trying to get last minute stuff for the Chrism Mass that night. I only had time enough to get home and shower. Given the fact that I got to the Cathedral early, I had my BE arsenal with me and started buffing it on my face. I wasn't expecting my PV (who was rector at the time) to walk in on me. He just laughed. Luckily I was almost done because the bishop came in just as I was putting on my lipstick. I stopped and he just laughed. I wanted to swallow my lipstick (almost bit it when I saw him.
