If people want to be amused, they're not going to go to mass, they'll watch a movie or go to a comedy club or some other form of entertainment.

Why would anyone go to a mass like that? Because its funny? What is he thinking? I imagine he's remembering his youth when mass seemed dull and boring, and wants to fix that. Except he's so out of touch with the times that he doesn't realize the pendulum has swung completely the other way and now young men and women come to mass for a brief time of sacredness.

Years ago at a student chapel a nun was dressed as a clown and the processional had her doing cart wheels up the center aisle, to the altar

I have never seen anything like this again, and I hope I never do. It was disgraceful

Have you ever seen "liturgical dancers" prancing up the aisles, frolicking to and fro, waving their little ribbon flags (whatever they are called) dressed in painted on tights, up onto the altar as the "diversity" parade comes in carrying their ancestral flags dressed in their native garb as they sing a Bob Marley tune?

Made me want to be sick.

Every year, at my elementary school, we'd have a liturgical dance at every annual Advent Mass, similar to that.... I think they still do.

Well that is very common in our country In the parish where I used to go, they dance during the 'Gloria' as if they were in a variety show. YUCK!

I left that parish and I am now very happy in the present parish where I belong.

What would be the correct thing to if one of us were unfortunate to find ourselves at such a mass?

Talk to the priest afterwards.

Disgusting.

These abuses seem to be in decline (at least here) thankfully, but there are still problems. The smoke of the Devil sometimes blows through our churches. I think the liturgical chaos in some churches is making the Devil very happy. Notice, he goes after the Catholic Church all the time instead of the Protestant sects, because it is God's Church, not a man-made sect. Maybe a prayer to St. Michael will help clear the smoke of the Devil.

I wonder really how much of these kinds of abuses're going on?

As far as liturgical dance goes, a dear old priest use to tell us, I hardly think the Blessed Mother would have done a two step at the foot of the cross
