Good job going chrome
I just want to say how happy I am you finally got away from the orange forum theme. The orange was pretty brutal.
Now you have your site banner around the forum and a nice new chrome theme and things are much more aesthetic and modern.
Good job. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for your kind words.

Re: Good job going chrome
You're welcome.
Here's a few extra things that might help:
The forum is a huge resource, so more traffic needs to be driven to it.
1.) Why not on the front page of catholic.com put a couple of top-ten lists? like, latest-posts, most-popular posts? this would help draw attention to the fact that the forum exists for every visitor to the main site. i know i've been drawn in by the e-mails with these lists, why not put the same lists on the front page somewhere?
2.) Google Ad-Words maybe?
3.) Book links to Amazon.com?
4.) Your favicon is still orange.
It might also help to reduce the costs of running the forum. Are you hosting it in your own data center or paying another host? How much storage/transfer are you dealing with on a daily basis? just curious.
take care

But ya, the site looks really nice now and organized. I defiantly like the new theme better than orange(i had it set to blue though). Good job and good luck with your new improvments.

Latest threads from several key forums are already listed on the www.catholic.com home page as well as most (if not all) subsidiary pages.
How can we get members to put CAF information on their web sites, blogs, e-mails, etc?
For static and dynamic CAF banner graphics, see:

ohh.. now i see them. but not until after you pointed them out to me. maybe move that cruise banner and put the forum links right in the center of the page on white background. currently the forum links are blue on blue and are a bit hard to spot.
i wouldn't think that most members have web sites. in fact, i'd imagine very few do!

Re: Good job going chrome
Folks might have customizable profile pages on other sites.
The dynamic banners could be added to e-mail sigs.

Re: Good job going chrome
As noted elsewhere, additional skin color schemes (like orange) are in the works.
I would ask for some patience as we have a few bigger issues to tackle first.

Re: Good job going chrome
I hadn't been here, in a while, so I was surprised to see the new color, this afternoon. I have to say that, even though the orange wasn't objectionable, I love this new look. Good job!
