Exercise Support Thread Week of 3/8/2009
Welcome to a new week and Daylight Saving Time (For the US folks). There seems to be a lot of illnesses among our ranks. But that shouldn't stop us from setting goals for the week.
My goals are to run 25 miles, including my 10 mile long run this morning.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 3/8/2009
Thanks for the heads up on this thread. . You are so much more advanced than I am. Am I in the right thread? I recently had some ankle issues and was sidelined from my regular 2-4 mile walks. Because of this I have gained 20 pounds. After going through some physical therapy I am starting to walk again. I am going to start out with a mile. I am happy daylight savings time is here because it is lighter outside when I get home from work.

Dear God, give me courage
for perhaps I lack it more than anything else.
I need courage against challenging times
and against seductions.
I need courage to bear unkindness,
mockery, contradiction.
I need courage to fight against the devil,
against terrors and troubles, temptations,
attraction, darkness and false lights,
against tears, depression and above all fear.
I need Your help, dear God.
Strengthen me with Your love and Your grace.
Console me with Your Blessed Presence
and grant me the courage to persevere
until I am with you forever in heaven.

Praying for courage this week...........

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 3/8/2009
I just got back from my 10 mile run. I'm wet, and I stink. But I'm feeling good.
Guppie, yes, you found the right place. It's great that you're able to start walking again. Is there much pain when you walk?

Thanks for the prayers everyone....update...
DH is home, back on his meds, and took a day off work (second this yr...all other days he has been working 12 hour days) We went to church with DD alterserving, then out to dinner, as it is our wedding Anniversary tommorow...and then out to a kiddies choice movie..."Jonas Brothers Documentary"
With renewed spirits, and more hope in my heart, we move forward.
4.3 lbs off so far of my first 25 lb goal

good progress for a week. Lana, extra nice job on eating till you are satisfied, not till you are stuffed.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 3/8/2009
No exercise yesterday. I used it as my one day off.
I cook for my priests on Sunday morning and made them bacon. I had 1 piece and boy - it was crisp-a-licious.
I have not had bacon in months, but wow- was it tasty!
But since I knew my day was booked with no time to exercise, 1 piece was it.
This AM - back to the grid. Seems like the gym fregulars were all sluggish this AM. They should have served complimentary coffee.

Michael - 10 mile long run? Wow - I have never made it that far in a day. That is fabulous.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 3/8/2009
I made it to the treadmill here in the hotel this morning to run my 3 mile daily run.
Lana, thanks for the update. God is Good. I will continue prayer for continued progress.
Jenn, good job on the single piece of bacon. You had to have one, just to make sure it was cooked right.

For all the traveling you do, the exercise is probably a bright spot in your day of eating out on the road.
Yeah - I had to try the bacon just like I had to try my homemade applesauce and fried potatoes.
Had to be worthy to feed the priests, ya know.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 3/8/2009
Where's everyone been all week? My laptop crashed on Monday, and I have a new one coming. It's supposed to be here this Wednesday. I completed my goal of 25 miles on Saturday.
Now it's time for a new thread. Please join me here.
