Default Church Teaching on Auras

Does anyone know of any official Church teachings on people having auras? If so, can you point me to any documentation? To clarify, I recently had someone I believe tell me they can sometimes see certain colors of light around people, so I don't believe they're just making it up, but am looking for information to pass on to them. Thanks.

No. But the Church doesn't have any official teaching on ghosts, either. If a Catholic is free to believe in ghosts, I'm sure they're free to believe in auras. The body generates an electric field, but it is not usually perceptible without instrumentation. But I suppose it's possible that some folks have the ability to discern this field.

Hi Farley,

If auras exist, they are not a religious matter are they?

Then why are auras, halos, for lack of a better term everywhere in the paintings of saints ect.
A stroll threw the Vatican should tell you something, even if their is no official position.
I dont know but I would bet you will be hard pressed to find paintings of Jesus and the saints with out this feature.

The concept of an "aura" is based on the "spiritual energy" of a person or their Chi. This is a decidedly non-Christian concept.
