Must women wear headcoverings at Mass?
Although I do wear a mantilla to Mass, I was under the impression that this practice is now officially optional. However, several people have insisted that the Catholic headcovering rule never changed. They claim the news media falsely claimed it had changed -- whereupon women widely abandoned the practice -- but, in fact, the original rule requiring headcoverings is still in effect.
Is this true?
