Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
Hey, everyone, welcome to our new thread. I hope you're all enjoying a blessed 2nd Sunday of Easter. It's time to set goals for the week. I'm hoping to run 26 miles this week, including an 11 mile long run. I'm going to try to get that done tomorrow.
I may not be online much this week. My new laptop needs to go in for service.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
26 weeks is amazing, michael...good for you. Do you run fast...jog...combo of the two?
my goals are to jog 3x this week....3 miles each time. Pilates 3x this week. I might switch out one of the jogging days for the bike, we'll see.
May God strengthen your resolve to accomplishing your goals this week, everyone.

Hi Michael and whatevergirl. Good luck on those goals!
My goal is the same as last week. Walk at least 3 times a week. I only made two walks last week, so my goal repeats.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
Back to baby steps and find a way to manage the allergy component of my recurring respiratory infections (preferably something that does not involve antibotics or steroids - the usual way of treating things here, it seems). Having said that, the antibiotic I am currently on has improved the current infection, now to get free and stay free.
So I'd like to swim twice and start up an exercise routine that I can do at home on non-swimming days.
Umm, Michael, your new lap top needs a service Hope that's not an indication of a troublesome purchase?

My speed ranges from about 6.0 to 7.5 MPH, with an occasional burst above that. I haven't gotten into intervals so much, but probably should.

Yeah, you caught that, huh!?!? It keeps losing it's network connection, so I suspect it has a bad NIC (Network Interface Card). The laptop was supplied by my company, so it wasn't my choice to get this model. I don't think I would have chosen this one. Oh well.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
So far, I've run 6 miles this week. I'm hoping to do my long run tomorrow. The weather is supposed to cool down a little tomorrow, and that'll be nice. It's 100 here right now.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
Hi all, and nice to see you guys are out there and exercising.
I plan on hitting my 5 day routine at the office gym. I am trying to mix it up a tad, but still concentrating on strenght type sets. Monday was a bit tough, it always is. Today, Tuesday, going a bit better. I usually pickup steam and stamina as the week progresses..
Take care all...

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
Hi everyone--I just love this pilates machine we bought. DH is using it...woohoo! He doesn't do some of the workouts, but mainly does the squats and pully type strength exercises for the arms. It can really build strength...it's amazing. I love it. I have been doing the full 45 minute routines, and you feel like you've gone swimming...every muscle feels worked. I honestly never felt that way from lifting free weights.
Just sharing...have a blessed rest of your week!

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/19/2009
I'm on target to meet my goal. I did my long run yesterday, and 3 miles per day every other day. So I'm up to 23 miles so far this week. Just 3 more to go.
Sharon, you must be really building up the muscles. I'll be sure not to anger you.

Good for you, Michael....woohoo!! That's awesome.
I did my pilates routine tonight....50 minutes. I did more ab work, mixed with the legs and arms. Man, it's tough!! But, I'm progressing...and getting stronger...yay! I love jogging, that's my first and I am going to jog tomorrow.
Where is nick, frank and jrabs? We miss you guys....

I've sent Nick several PMs recently, but no reply. I hope he's OK.

You know, that is really good...when I was running a few years ago (remember before I moved?) I bought that runervals series, and the dvd shows people running on treadmills...and the fast pace was like 10-12 mph??? I was like...are these people nuts?
Good for you that after all these years, YOU have stuck with it. Had I not had that bout with my foot, I know I would have been more consistent...I jog now, but to run again, I admit, I'm too fearful of hurting it all over again.
Keep up the great job.
I hope nick is doing ok too...maybe just busy.

The fastest marathon runners will maintain that pace over 26 miles! Yes, they're nuts. I can't even imagine that.
