Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/26/2009
It's that time again! Time to set new goals for the new week. My goals for this week are the same as last week. I plan to run 26 miles, including an 11 mile long run, which I plan to today.
Who's next?

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/26/2009
I just got back from my 11 mile run. I went to the local community college, and ran on the track there. I finished in record time (for me): 1:36:50. That beats by previous best by over 7 minutes.

11 mile run??? woohoo! Great job! Roughly a 10 minute mile...that's stuuuupendous. Really.
I just finished my pilates workout....and boy, it was hard, but you know when the workout's hard, but you still feel good after it? That's how I feel. So shaky, but good. I did arms and abs, with lots of squats. The cool thing about this machine, is you can raise in on a 45 and 60 degree angle, to make it harder...I think I made a wise investment here.
Have a blessed rest of your day...tomorrow, we'll all have a case of the Mondays.

Oh, I forgot to set goals earlier.
I'm not sure...but I would like to do 4x this week for pilates...and 2x jogging, on the days I'm not doing pilates. I need a day off for rest, I just can't (and don't want lol) to go 7 straight days with no break.

Actually, it works out to a pace of 8:49/minute. Not bad for an old guy!
So, after my 11 mile run yesterday, I mowed the lawn, then vacuumed the entire house. By last night, even walking was a challenge. So I skipped today. I'll have to run Saturday to make up for it.

 Wow! I'm impressed!
I deliberately haven't set any goals this week. I guess somewhere I knew I was heading for some sort of crash and had an emotional melt-down over something minor today, but it was obviously the proverbial last straw.............
After getting the good news that the office has made the correct provisional bookings for my flight home in June and my return in August I went to the pool and swam for half an hour. Came home feeling dreadful, took a pain-killer for the grandfather headache I had and slept for nearly 2 hours.
Now, this week, instead of setting goals, I'll report on actual acchievements and see if that is better for me at the moment.

I ran 3 miles on the treadmill this morning, trying to keep on track.
Vivienne, I hope things get better for you. I know how hard it can be to move with a major headache.

Thanks, Michael.
Half an hour in the pool again - with sunglasses on, in case it's the glare adding to the headache.
Also walked two flights down the stairs this morning. Two flights up at the end of the day is a bit of a huge challenge. But I do walk up a flight of stairs at least 3 times every week day.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/26/2009
Vivienne...I think walking up stairs is underrated...lol It is a great form of exercise, without the gym fee, or the need to buy equipment.
I totaled about 10 miles in walking/with some light jogging for 3 days worth of cardio. It was great! I'm tired today though...so today is a much needed rest day.
Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/26/2009
Some days I climb those stairs at school and at the top I wonder if they are going to kill me!!!! I'm in a second floor apartment and occasionally I use the stairs when I get home, but the stairwell is dark and stuffy and when the weather is very hot (most of the year) climbing up those stairs seems like a very bad idea.
Staff lunch till 4pm on Thursday = no swim
Friday = regular day off swimming
Today, a bad wind was blowing, lots of dust in the air, poor visibility on the roads, so no swim.
Looking forward to my swim tomorrow.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 4/26/2009
I was an incredibly busy week, so I didn't get any time on CAF. But I did manage to run, but not my full goal. I ran 23 miles this past week, 3 short of my goal. This coming week should be better.
Time for a new thread. Please go here.
