Exercise Support Thread Week of 5/17/2009
This is the day that the Lord has made! Welcome to a new week, and another chance to honor God by maintaining the temple of the Holy Spirit. It's time to set goals for the week.
My goal is to run a total of 26 miles, including an 11 mile long run, scheduled for today.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 5/17/2009
The weather is warming up here, but I was able to complete my 11 mile run yesterday. I ran 3 miles this morning on the treadmill.
Anyone else joining in this week?

I feel so alone this week.
I ran 3 miles this morning on the treadmill. So far, so good.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 5/17/2009
Yesterday was my first day of putting everything (diet & exercise) together in quiet some time. I did an hour on the treadmill & weights, and was able to eat healthy too. For the rest of the week:
Tue: bike & TKD
Wed: bike or run
Thu: TKD
Fri: TKD, run & maybe weights
Sat: run

Hi, Nick. How did it go yesterday? Did you feel better?

I felt tired & sore. I tried a new weight program called High Intensity Training (HIT). My muscles felt like jello afterwards.

Well, that's a good kind of sore. Once you get used to the program, it'll feel a lot better.

I don't know. The goal of the program is to work your muscles to failure every time you work out. I'm thinking that'll create soreness every time. We'll see though. Yesterday was day 1.

Re: Exercise Support Thread Week of 5/17/2009
Yesterday I managed both the bike workout & TKD...AND BOY WAS I TIRED!! I ended up eating about 400 calories more than I would have liked to, but still an overall good day.
I'm thinking I may switch today from a run to a walk just to give the body a little bit of a respite. I'll still walk for like 60-90 minutes, but that's a lot less strain than running for 60-90 mins.

I'll volunteer for cheerleader duty, but, do you pay airfares and accommodation?

Just Michael and Nick working out this week?
All I've managed was to give my fingers a workout on my keyboard. It was report comments time - minimum of 3000 characters per pupil, no cut and paste comments allowed!!!! Finally at 12,582 words I'm finished, in more ways than one. Too to think of anything other than going to bed, but, I'll be back.

Hi, Vivienne,
I'd love to have you as a cheerleader. Unfortunately, you'd have to pay your own travel, but you can stay in my guest room.

They give you a certain number of words you have to write about each student?!?!? How strange. I've never heard of that, course I'm just now getting into the teaching profession.

Unfortunately I have spent all my travel budget for this year so there's no way to get to the guest room - I guess I'll just have to cheer from here and hope you hear me.

This is the first time in nearly 20 years of teaching that I've been asked to write such a long report. All I hear all over the campus is complaints.
