Default prayer for broken mother-daughter relationship

I have a co-worker who is struggling with her daughter who just graduated high school and will be moving away from home next weekend. She is an oustanding student, but mom and dad have literally spoiled their only daughter and given her absolutely everything she wants and they are now reaping the consequences of having raised a tyrant.

Instead of letting DD learn the consequences of her actions on her own, mom agitates the situation by making personal calls from her desk here at work, engaging in threatening, hateful conversations with DD which as we all know only pushes people farther away.

Please pray for this situation. Mom in her brokenness and hurt is bashing her daughter and taking the stiff-upper lip approach to deny her broken heart. Very sad.

Lord, I pray for JLCecilia's co-worker that she and her daughter may one day come to a truly loving and healthy relationship with each other. I pray that something happens that makes them see how much they need to be loving and forgiving of each other. May they pray for each other and manifest their love this way. I don't see how they can be reconciled if one or both don't turn to Christ and handle the other as Christ would, so I pray Lord, that at least one of the two begins to pray more and find in Your behavior the path that will lead their relationship in the right direction. Christ, be their light and shine for them so that they can see through the darkness of their anger and injury. Make them truly loving and forgiving. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

There comes a moment when all us Mother's must make a momumental step. That is to move from active Motherhood ~ actively caring for our children...their safety...their needs...their health...assist with their decisions...teach them about life...help them with disappointments...shelter them from harm...and on and on.

We must at some moment make the move to spiritual Motherhood when we are called to continue all these things...only through our prayers. It is a much more difficult vocation ~ and we will feel totally out of control...however it is in the end what the vocation of Motherhood is all about. Our Blessed Mother is the perfect model for this...and we can draw strength and courage from turning to her.

I will pray for this situation. May God grant this Mother's desire for a healed relationship.

Sounds like a very difficult situation.

Jesus, may you lay your healing hand on this mother and child relationship and on the hard heart of this mother so she may learn to treat her daughter with more care and support.

Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God,
cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
