Legion of Mary - any members out there?

Hi all,

I have been in the Legion of Mary for 6 years now, and was wondering how many other forumites belong to the Legion.

We have quite a nice little bunch of us in the social groups section but maybe you've missed us.

My praesidium is in London.

I am currently a probationary member. I've been to 5 meetings now and I really enjoy it. I'm still getting used to attending weekly meetings and doing the work every week, but I see myself doing it for a while. I also started attending daily Mass and praying the Tessera.

I'm currently a member of another parish's praesidium but they are talking about starting one at my parish, so it would be cool if I could be a part of that.

I just went to my first meeting today after being an auxiliary member for the past year and a half. It was really a gift to pray the rosary with other faithful members of the Church and have fellowship with them. I work 10 months out of the year but am discerning how active I can be in the 2 I have off.

Think I posted one earlier but just getting used to this forum, anyway here in Ireland member of Legion of Mary for 12 years.
president of praesdium. Curia officer. ggoing on P.P.C in August so need ot of prayer. say P.P.C prayers every dayfor all those who are going on onit

Hello Brothers and SIsters,

I'm form a Diocese that does not have an active Legion of Mary, I pray the Tessera prayers daily, please join me in my prayers to be able to start and active Legion of Mary in the Diocese of Superior, I also ask for any advise or supprot that any active members can give me to help me in the process.

May our Mother interceed for all of us.

Greetings to all!

I am a probationary member - have been attending meetings for two months now and definitely plan on taking the Legion promise next month.

It's been a real blessing to get involved with the Legion - I can really see how it does work. I am quite confident that this is a place I will grow in holiness and help to build up the Church - a win/win situation!

Still relatively new, of course, but looking forward to talking to other Legionaries here on the forums.

I was an auxiliary member for a few months before I decided to become an active member in May 2009. Took the Legion promise in October and was elected curia secretary last week. D.M., who took the Legion promise at the same time I did, recently became secretary of our local praesidium.

Has anybody here been secretary of a curia? What can I expect? I know that I will have to attend the meetings of the Los Angeles Senatus every month, as well as the curia meetings. I know that it will be a time-consuming job, but I have plenty of free time.

I am really glad that you started this forum. It's really nice to be able to chat with other legionaries all over the world. I belong to Mother of Good Shepherd Praesidium for the senior and Mary Assumed into Heaven for the juniors in Australia

Dear fellow legionaries, please pray for the success of our coming Junior legionaries' retreat from the 23rd to 24th of October, 2010 that they may continue to the path they have chosen at the moment and serve our Blessed Mother and offer their life to God through her.
Include also in your prayers the success of the 2nd Junior praesidium that we are starting on the 30th of October.

Maria, I will be praying for these young people. I'm so encouraged to hear of their active participation.

I was just reading ,"Our Lady of Kibeho," ( the church approved Marian apparitions from the 80's in Rwanda) that the Blessed mother mentioned to those young visionaries that they should join the Legion of Mary !

Our prasidium prays at every meeting for a revival to come through our young people...Legion of Mary is the best apostolate to train them for the journey ahead.
