What is the basis for Catholics' devotion to Mary?
A non-catholic friend asked me the above question. I am embarrassed to say that I could not give him a definitive answer. Any guidance you can give me in answering this question would be greatly appreciated.
Re: What is the basis for Catholics' devotion to Mary?
Hi,
It is God's devotion to Mary that is our basis for such devotion. It was God who sent an angel to her, addressing her as full of grace. It was God who chose her to be the channel through which He would give us His divine Son. If that isn't devotion, I don't what is?
