Baby Boomer Dance Contest
Now for something really important! How many of the dances on the site could you / did you do? There seem to have been regional variations and the demonstrators left out a few.
I never did any GQ or Spank. Strangely enough, being able to do the current dance seemed much more important then than now.

Re: Baby Boomer Dance Contest
Beau, you and I are of an age...
I have done the Jerk, the Twist, and the Mashed Potatoes. I also did the "Frog" or "Frug" (I never knew for sure how it was spelled). I watched others do the Watusi.
What I don't see on this list is the Shag. I have no idea what that is, but it was popular in South Carolina in our day. In the 1980s the Boomer station would talk about the Shag dance all the time. They also talked about Weejun shoes that the guys would wear, without socks.

They are missing the Swim too. But I think I did a little of all of them. Thanks for this great link. Brings back some memories when I could still move them hips.

I think I remember the Swim, The Skate and The Funky Penguin. Who makes these dances up?
