Well, all we needed to get that old thread closed was Sina. Thanks!

AFM, Elise's birthday is on Saturday (sniffle), and my parents are coming down to celebrate. I'm hoping they don't notice the bump-a-lump or the fact that I can't eat as much as I used to. I'm praying that since Little One is 10 weeks, the harfing and nausea can go down and get lost. We're going to tell my folks after the party (they're staying the night) - their 38th wedding anniversary is right after her birthday, so it will all work out well. I can't remember if I posted how we're going to tell them in the old thread, but we took a jar of Prego spaghetti sauce, put a blue and pink ribbon around it, and wrote "DUE not open until MARCH 2010". We're going to put it in a box and give it to them, telling them it's their anniversary present and not to open the box until they get home. My mom will probably it on the way home, so I'm hoping this will give them time to not tell me the first thing that comes to mind, which will most likely be "was this ... plannned?" I'm actually kind of nervous about how my parents are going to react. My mom reallllllly doesn't get the no-ABC goodness of the Church.

Isn't it funny how nerve wracking it is to announce your pregnancy to your parents? I feel like... I did something wrong and I should feel guilty. I love the prego sauce idea!!! hahahha.

My friend bought a white baby tee shirt for her 15 month old, and some iron-on letters from Walmart and made a shirt that said " I am going to be a big brother!" and took a pic of her toddler with it on and mailed it to her mom. I found out about it a day later. She was planning on keeping it a secret from me, but when I told her I wasn't up for meeting her in AZ this september because I was pregnant, due on April 22ndish, she sent me the photo too and said she was due April 15th and that I had good timing! Yay!

I've had heartburn for 3 days now..it won't go away!!!! I've had just about everything else with this baby, so we might as well add it to the list...let's see, what's left...hemorrhoids, so that's something to look forward to!!!!

Just got back from the Dr.'s with DD1, she has a sore throat and a terrible headache, some type of infection. Got meds. for her. Hopefully the rest of us won't get it! She looks terrible! She got us up at 1:15 this morning and I slept with her on the couch the rest of the night. Of course I'm using the word "slept" very loosely. She didn't sleep well and I could sleep either. I'm running on empty right now!! My eyes are burning I'm so tired. I'm hoping our 3 year old will fall asleep so I can take a nap!

mylo - I love your idea on sharing the news -- I didn't catch the "prego" jar until sina mentioned it; that's great! (I just pictured ragu since that's what we always get.) I'm sorry you're not able to expect excitement from them (but I feel your pain). I hope the party goes well!

Tam - there is always room on our list! Congratulations. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well.

happymommy - sorry to hear you've got a sick one. Hope the rest of you stay healthy. And I feel you on the heartburn. It's always one of my first symptoms and i find it SO annoying. I bought a huge bottle of Tums with my huge bottle of prenatal vitamins a couple of weeks ago!

AFM, I go for my 16 week visit tomorrow. They'll do a quad screen, but nothing else exciting. I'm hoping to start feeling the baby a bit more in the next few weeks. I've felt it a few times, but laying down and feeling kicks is one of my fav parts of pregnancy, so I'm excited to be there soon!

Hello All!

I'm thrilled to be joining you after a year of TTC #2.

I'm due April 23, so I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

So far, so good. A little tired, but nothing crazy.

Praise the Lord -- he is good!

Catholic Sam, thanks for the wishes for baby to come soon. Your post was so rational.

Because I can't have internal exams anymore, I'm going to have to abandon the "cm dilated" race anyway. Probably not a bad thing for the reasons you mentioned. Your birth experience sounded great.

A big congratulations to TamM and lizziebits. I hope all goes well in your pregnancies.

Congrats Meg! Glad the baby is doing well.

I had my OB appointment this morning. She was more than 1/2 hour late. And the nurse told me "she's new to the practice and I don't have her phone number yet". And of course, today I had to bring both kids. Ugh. But we were there and I didn't want to reschedule, so I broke out a few more verses of Old McDonald, kwim? Anyway, she couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. Now, I'm 16 weeks today and I'm more than a bit overweight, so I know it's not a given. But we had no problems at 13 weeks. Honestly, part of me thinks it's the doc - I was just generally not impressed with her. Nothing specific, just a sense. She wasn't worried, just said it was hard to find this early, blah, blah. And I was trying to keep the kids calm. But now I'm a little worried. I have no cause to think anything's wrong, but still. WWYD? Ugh.
