Default Talents and Careers

It seems that aspies have a knack for certain careers, depending on math, verbal, and visual skills. I was reading a book about it and was happy to see that computer programming was a common job for aspies, which I had already chosen for my college major.

This list seems to give a good overview:

So, what talents/careers do you have? And were they on this list or not?

Thanks for the link. My son has recovered from Autism. However, he is a visual thinker and loves working on the computer. He is able to use the computer in class instead of having to writie out his thoughts on paper , and can even use it for tests, etc...

Thanks for the link, Callin. I was wondering if the were any quizzes/tests or the like on the internet that would help determine if you were a visual or non-visual thinker?

I'm not sure; I took one way back in school.

I found this test, though, and the result was accurate:

Hi. I have an English degree and homeschooled all my kids. Now they're done. I'm still teaching by helping out at our local Catholic school. I guess education is my talent/career.

Care to explain why you think photography, art, animation and programming is sad?

Because none of those are viable options for me

Well, Asperger's affects everyone differently, and those are just the more common ones. It's neither all-inclusive nor mandatory.

I work in IT right now and I hate it. It's so boring and I can't get anymore interested in it. Because I'm not interested in it and find it so incredibly boring, I can't learn new things, not only do I not have the drive, but I can't hold on to the information. Unfortunately, I don't know what I'd want to do. Aspergers definitely gives me numerous limitations.

I have that problem too, that it is almost impossible to learn things I have no interest in or remember any of it. I have a great memory for what interests me, but unfortunately the things I'm interested in are not employable. I'm almost out of college and people keep asking me what I want to do and I have no idea.

But I don't know if I have AS or am just an obsessive, unlikeable person.

Eh, sorry for the self-deprecation in the last line of my last post, yesterday was a very difficult day.
