First ever Papal declairation?
Hi.
A protestant friend told me that, in his Epistles, Peter said Paul's writings were truth. Is this correct, and does anyone know the quote?

Re: First ever Papal declairation?
Not necessarily truth, but Scripture. 2 Peter 3:15-16 reads, "And account the longsuffering of our Lord, salvation; as also our most dear brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, hath written to you: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction." (DR emphasis added)

While Cachonga has found the quote you're looking for, I wouldn't say that was the "First ever Papal declaration".
I would look to the Acts chapter 1 where Peter declares that Judas' " bishopric let another man take".

Matthew 16:16-17 (RSV)
16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

Pre-pope declaration. It's like quoting Cardinal Ratzinger.

Sounds like the definitive example of an infallible teaching.
