Default Re: El Salvador honors Jesuit martyrs [CN-USA]

I don't know about the 1989 El Salvador Jesuits,
but I do know that many religious who are being lauded as Central American
"martyrs" from the 1980s were Liberation Theologians (thus for all intentions and purposes, basically communists) who took sides during communist insurgencies in those countries. I don't believe that they were martyred FOR THE CATHOLIC FAITH, therefore. Many religious sided with the communist Sandinistas in Nicaragua in 1979 and one of the priests, Fr. Cardenal, was a member of the Communist government of Nicaragua until Pope John Paul gave him a good upbraiding.
You can't dance to the music and expect to not have to pay the band.
