Default Why do Catholics pray the rosary?

Why pray the rosary? There is no reference in the Bible. Jehovah or Yeshua did not tell us to pray with beads and beads were used in jewelry from the very early days of the Jewish people. Very few Catholics will pray the rosary, so why does the Church support this practice?

I made a beautiful sterling silver and natural agate rosary (I used to be a silversmith) last summer and I prayed the rosary every day for about two months. Toward the end I truly felt this was not right, after I read in the New Testament about not using babbling prayer.

Your Profile indicates that you are a non-denominational Christian. I recommend then that you read more about why Catholics pray the rosary before concluding that Catholics do not follow the New Testament. The resources linked below should be helpful.
