How to create an avatar?
OK I'm pretty much a new member here but I'm having trouble with uploading an avatar. Under "Your Current Avatar" the only option is "Do not use an avatar", while under "Pre-defined Generic - 50x50", the only option is "Dilbert2". I need an avatar!

Re: How to create an avatar?
Newbies like you and me don't get to have custom avatars. I think "Regular Members" do.

Re: How to create an avatar?
O.K. This may seem kind of 'dumb', but what exactly is an avatar? Oh dear. Thanks.

Re: How to create an avatar?
It's the picture to the left of some users' names. Newbies don't have them, but people who have been around awhile do.

Re: How to create an avatar?
Here are some custom avatar editors:
My Avatar Editor
Create and edit personalized avatar characters compatible with Mii characters found on the Nintendo® Wii
and
http://www.myavatareditor.com/avatar...o/MAELite.html
Zwinky Free Avatars
Download editor to your desktop.
DoppelMe
Start with a bare avatar, select little bits and pieces from a variety of looks, styles, and extras, then youre done. Unfortunately, you only get access to all the options when you sign up with the site.
Simpsonize Me (Simpson Avatar Creator)
This avatar editor is different because it requires a photo of yourself to get started. Based on the photo and some details about your gender, age, color of Simpson youd like to be, choice of clothing, and hair style, the machine will create a suggestion which you can modify using sliders and custom settings.
ObamiconMe
There is an Obama avatar generator as well.
MyWebFace
Turns a picture of yourself into a cartoon. Requires a toolbar install.

Re: How to create an avatar?
OK now I'm confused again. How can I upload my own avatar on here? I mean now that my status has shifted, and I am not a newbie no more, I have more avatars to choose from. But I'd like to upload my own avatar now. How do I do that?
