RCIA Show?
I've heard some non-Catholic call in shows, and a bunch of Catholic Answers shows, but how about a RCIA Call-in show?
Personally, I come from a non-traditional non-Catholic Christian background, seem to lead some friends/family as a man of morality, yet it seems like there might be some others like me, that would LOVE to ask some basic questions about the Catholic faith, and the exploration that new Christians and new people drawn to the Catholic faith might be too afraid, or timid to be asking in an RCIA or 1-on-1 experience with the Priests and mentors we see face-to-face. An open forum, even on the radio, might be a great place for RCIA participants to ask questions that they/we may not ask in a analog/public forum.
P.S. I love the shows you guys have done, and thanks allot.
Peace
Enoch

Re: RCIA Show?
Early in my conversion I chanced upon the Catholic Answers radio program. As it was, I worked alone, 2nd shift, and was able to listen freely while I worked. That source of information, especially the Open Forum episodes, literally rocketed me into a solid understanding of the basic dogmas, doctrines, precepts, etc. of the Catholic Church. While I have done much more in depth studies of the Church, our faith, Catholic spirituality, the Saints, etc. since; the foundation that was laid for me through listening to Catholic Answers and watching has stood firm and immovable from the start. I was confirmed Easter 2006...

Re: RCIA Show?
I second the recommendation, we don;t have Catholic radio today but they are working on a TV show, problem is timing it for good live call-in feature
another problems is possible repetetive questions, but that could be handled by announcing "themes" from time to time
I would love to have this link everywhere and be able to advertise and recommend it

Re: RCIA Show?
I've been listening to the show for a few months now, and I must say that every show is like an RCIA show. On this, I must say that the host, and guests do an excellent job of explaining both answers and questions. Keep up the great work!

That sounds a lot like my story. I started RCIA not sure where I was being led. I was about two weeks into my RCIA and getting more lost in the wilderness as I went along. I had lost what I thought was strong points for me such as grace and justification and was being introduced to totally new ones like sacraments, purgatory, and indulgences. Anyway I felt like I was losing my grip on my understanding as to what being Christian was. Then I did a search for Catholic under podcast on iTunes and found Catholic Answers and the first show was with Tim Staples. Coming from a Sola Scriptura Protestant background his Bible based answers really helped me out. About two weeks after that my RCIA director said that I would not be eligible for baptism my first Easter Vigil since I was just exploring the faith and I said that I was sure that I was going to join the Church and that I agreed with the authority of the Church's magisterial teaching on faith and morals, Apostolic Succession, the Real Presence through transubstantiation, salvation by the Grace of God, and justifying grace through the sacraments and she was like Ok sounds like you're ready. I continue to listen and have been led to study the Church Fathers and feel as though Sola Scriptura is not biblical and that there is Church Authority and Sacred Tradition as the full deposit of faith. But I do feel that the Catholic Church is fully biblical and if understood properly would have a lot better argument for her religiousity than any Protestant denomination.
