what was your favorite priest or nun like?
Everybody probably has one or two. My favorite priest is Fr. Joe. He was really a good, holy, and down to earth person. He was very instrumental in bringing me back to the chruch, and my wife into the church. God bless him!

Re: what was your favorite priest or nun like?
Because this is my first year as a card carrying Catholic, I only know a couple of Priests. One is an older man and he is very holy in his ways. He has never had a real world job that I know of and although I look up to him for spiritual leadership, his homilies seldom speak to me. The other priest I know is a child priest. He is only 32 years old, but he is wise beyond his years. His theology seems sound, his faith appears unshakable and he as a person is very lovable. The younger Priest has very good homilies, the type that seems to be speaking to me directly. I equate this to the 10 years he spent doing a worldly job before deciding to become a Priest. This seemed to give him a better understanding of what it is like having to pay the rent and make ends meet while facing constant lay offs and corporate down sizing. Also, these guys both belong to an order, which many in our parish think makes a big difference over diocesan types. Because I have so little experience, I wouldn't know the difference. Unfortunately, Priests that belong to an order usually have to move every few years. So when you get one you really like, he’ll be leaving in a short while.

Re: what was your favorite priest or nun like?
I forgot to say why I admire my priest. He says 5 Masses a week and still made it a priority to teach the RCIA. He is totally orthodox. He is more that willing to correct peolpe in sin. He has medical problems but still puts in an unreal amount of time helping others.

Re: what was your favorite priest or nun like?
My favorite priest said his last Mass with us on Sunday as he is being transferred. He is a very humble and holy man, when you are near him you can sense his holiness and sanctity. He gives excellent sermons. His sermon on the priesthood was so good that if I had been a young man I would have been first in line to sign up!His liturgy is so beautiful and reverent, he approaches the sanctuary in such a way that you know he is in the presence of God. He is also a wonderful confessor. He takes time to counsel you on every sin you have committed and how to avoid them in the future. I envy the lucky parish who will be getting this wonderful priest.
My favorite nun was Sister Marianne. She taught at my boarding school many years ago. Last I heard, she was principal of a Catholic school in Pa. She was strict, but you knew that she loved and was concerned about each individual student, and prayed for them. She was solid orthodox Catholic, not a heretical flake like so many nuns today. Because of her, I really wanted to enter the convent and would have, but I fell in love and the rest is history.
