NWS is predicting sleet for us on Thursday turning into snow Thursday night and Friday. This has been a cold winter for us so I know it must be particularly bad for those of y'all up north. Lily, has summer been hotter or cooler than usual down under?
Continued prayers for you, bro, as well as geez, Marie and everyone else.

Put it this way - it's been wetter than it was the last few years, so it FEELS a bit cooler. I don't think average temps are much different though.

Well, work's cancelled tomorrow (State of Maryland is closed) due to the blizzard. Not so sure about Thursday, either. Might not be anywhere to put the snow...

There's a chance for two more snow storms, too, on the way the next 7 days.

No snow down here. Florida would be chaotic if there was snow.

Looks like those 50 mph winds they were talking about are starting to pick up. It's a near blizzzard out there! Near white-out conditions.

EDIT: Looks like practically the entire state, and surrounding counties in other states are all under blizzard warnings.

Yeah, it's just getting started here in Boston. It's pretty, since I don't have to deal with it

Anyway, a few years back, it snowed at the beach in Los Angeles. I wasn't there, but if I had been, I'd have gone surfing in the snow.

I will be calling my sis in Bel Air this evening. I can't believe the amount of snow you guys are getting. We have a total of about 10" or so, with wind blowing it around, but that is nothing compared to you folks.

The Saints parade last night down in NO was awesome. They used the signature floats from several Mardi Gras parades. The Saints' owner, Tom Benson, is an alumnus of my high school and their band was positioned right in front of him. They had a brief stop at Gallier Hall which was NO's city hall up until the 50s. Nagin was there as was the governor, Sen. Landrieu as well as her brother who will be mayor of NO come March.. It was wild as you might imagine.

Forecast is still saying sleet for Thursday with snow for Thursday night and Friday.

We in Upstate NY are going to lose our bad reputation for weather if the storms keep on moving south....but it is COLD!! out there. The windchill is atrocious. I actually got a real icepick headache yesterday, from going outside to put out trash, the wind was so cold.
I am hoping to hibernate for a bit.

Well the heat has gone out in our basement office! There is construction work going on outside and somebody hit something that cut the heat. Fortunately, I'm only here for another hour, and the basement doesn't get much wind chill, except by way of the windows.

Yikes!! The warmth isn't going to last long, windchill or no. I can't even think about losing heat without feeling chilly.

The U. is closing at 5pm and there will be no evening classes. I'm outta here in another 15-20 minutes!

Oh, good. I have been chilled through too many times from a power cut,or having work done on the furnace. (Which always seems to be needed on the coldest day of the year.)
