Re: What's the difference between CCD & PSR?
in cleveland they have PSR (Public School Religion class), down here in sotex we have CCD (which everyone has forgotten stands for Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, a body established during the Counter-Reformation to insure proper teaching first to seminarians then to the faithful.) When I was a kid it was just called Catechism, because that's what you did if you didn't go to Catholic school - study the catechism, pass a test on the Q&A so you could make your first communion.
people (DREs are people, too) have come up with their own acronyms, so the diocese requires us to tell what their program is called: CCE continuing Christian education or CCF, continuing Christian formation, School of Religion, or just RE religious education. When parents call me they ask what time is bible class?
