Hello!
I'm new to this group. I've lost 70 pounds so far....but it is SOOO slow! I'm an avid bike rider--did a 62 miles ride last weekend! I now also run--just finished a 1/2 marathon on Sunday. But for whatever reason my weight loss is really, really slow...... Only thing about the 1/2 marathon....couldn't go to Mass--had it commuted to Weds.....but I miss it--going to have to go this Weds as well as the weekend!

Hi Annabelle!
![]() Wow... 70 pounds lost? And a half marathon? And a 62 mile bike ride? You are my hero! I'm also on the weight loss challenge. I've lost over 20 pounds but have another 40 or so to go before I'm at my ideal weight range. Like you, I've really picked up my running (I can almost do a 10k now) and biking. I want to be able to do a half marathon by autumn or at least next spring. There's no way I'm in the same league as you though. Keep us posted on your progress. It's inspiring.

Hey Annabelle,
I understand that serious exercise doesn't always = serious weight loss. I ran a half marathon two years ago, and for whatever reason, I don't think it was just the running that helped me lose weight. I cross trained with swimming and yoga, and that seemed to help me tone a lot more, though not necessarily lose more weight. I also added weight training. Maybe talk to a nutritionist? Mine made all the difference. I was on a very specific diet for a while and it was great! I loved what I ate, I had way more energy, and I could totally feel my body singing with health. ![]() Best of luck!! |
