Will Terri be denied a Catholic Funeral?
Assuming Michael is not stopped and Terri dies, I heard today that dirtbag Michael will not have terri immediately cremated upon death but will have her ashes placed in a (private I think) family vault or something in the State of Pennslyvania.
This makes me wonder:
1. Will Terri even get a Catholic funeral?
2. Does this mean that Terri family will be denied even visiting Terri grave If it is privately owned?
I ask this because I lost my Father to Cancer about two years ago and visit his grave every so often.
I do not know if #2 is true. If so, he's got to be the horrendously selfish man on face of the earth.

Re: Will Terri be denied a Catholic Funeral?
If you mean by "Catholic" funeral a full Mass of Christian Burial with the ceremony by the gravesite, then no, they probably will not be able to do that if Michael continues in his way.
However, it is not NECESSARY for anyone to get a Catholic funeral -- her parents could have a Mass for the Dead without a body there and it would have exactly the same graces as though it was a funeral Mass. I am sure they will be able to have as many Masses for the Dead for Terri as they want -- just not in the St. Petersburg diocese probably That's ok -- Cardinal Rigali back in their home state is a good Cardinal, he will help them when the time comes.
If Michael wants to "hide" her remains away somewhere, that's his problem. We, however, know better than to fall for that ploy -- at that point in time, she will be gone to heaven, and will be given a new body at the end of time. Sentimentally, of course, there is something special about knowing where a body is, and being able to visit that grave. But theologically, Michael would only be hurting Michael if he were to be so selfish.
I would not be too concerned about this side of things... what I am more concerned about is the very fact that she would be cremated so quickly... methinks somebody's hiding something!

Let's not talk about a funeral. I feel bad doing that.

Re: Will Terri be denied a Catholic Funeral?
Of course she can have a Catholic funeral. She is a Catholic and the Church allows for cremation. I heard one of the parents' attorneys talking about Terri and mortal sin and I was absolutely horrified that he could even think such a thing.

Re: Will Terri be denied a Catholic Funeral?
Sorry for bring up such a distressing thread. I was just concerned about the selfish in this case.
