Lisa:

The crowd in St. Peter's Square has the same disorder, as do I.

Until about 10 min. ago, they were (for what seemed to be 15 min.) cheering and screaming "Vive el Papa!"), while they were all crying! I couldn't scream Vive el Papa!" out loud, but I sure cried.

He was a truly great man, and I'm not sure we'll see his like among us very soon.

Blessings and Peace, Michael

Unhappy Re: Mods and Karl come on down and grieve with us

I am feeling alone, watching TV, EWTN and Fox since yesterday.

So aware of my incredible love for John Paul II, botht with joy that he is finally home in glory, and filled with saddness, anxiety and grief.

My ability to speak of the extent he played, (along with EWTN) in my re-affirmation of the practice of my Catholic faith is limited.

In fact, I am ..... I appreciate reading positive comments from others who feel as I do.

May God Bless and Mary keep you.

He was loved by many, not just Catholics. I am pretty sure we won;t see another like him, but hopefully we will get someone as holy as he is.

The Holy spirit will guide the Church and we will continue to be strong. Vive el Papa!!!!!

Sweetie pie, papalheart, don't feel alone. Without a Pope on earth, the Holy Spirit is so close to us. And we are so close to each other. Sadness yes will follow us for some time because he loved us so completely and we responded. But don't be anxious. Jesus himself told us, promised us, that the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church which Jesus himself established on Earth.

All the dissidents are grabbing their 15 minutes of fame right now. Pray for their benighted souls. I hope there will be a reckoning in the Church and a reckoning in the world.

The positive of all this TV time is that a lot of people are learning about the Catholic Church from the priests and bishops they are interviewing. Not from some anti-Catholic spewing falsehoods about us.

The Holy spirit may just get a few new souls out of this.

I think of something that I know His Holiness often said. "Totus tuus", meaning "all thine" because he had consecrated himslf to the heart of the Blessed Mother. It has always been a moment of special closeness for me when I recite my own daily renewal as he did. "O Mary my queen and my mother. remember I am all thine. Keep me and guard me as thy property and possession."
I miss my friend and my shepherd already...

I am sure Karl and the staff are planning special 'programing' and other items with the passing of JP2.

But I think they will look at all the responses here and make an appearance.

I've been on this earth with 3 popes, but JPII is the only one I can remember. There have been times today I wanted to cry, but I can't. Maybe it's the Y chromosome, maybe the military training, or maybe it's just that I'd be crying for me, and not him. I've been thinking that it's impossible to explain to a non-Catholic what it is to lose a pope - especially one who served so humbly and for so long. I feel like I've lost a grandfather. However, I'm consoled by knowing that he is at this moment with our Lord, praying for us.

It's the military training You bring up a good point. All over the world Catholics are crying. We can't really explain why. I guess it's just 'cause we're a family.
