Default Inspiring movie quotes

On this thread, list a line from a movie that you think is good life advice.

Here's Rocco's monologue from the opening scene of The Boondock Saints @:

There are 2 kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You have your talkers, and then you have your doers. Most people just talk...that's all they got. But when it's all said and done, it's the doers that change this world. And as a result, they change us. So which one are you? Are you just gonna sit around and talk about it? Or are you going to stand up for what you believe in? Because you and I know, all the rest is just coffee-house bulls***.

"Live, Live, Live!--the world is a banquet, but most poor suckers are starving to death!"--Roselind Russell as Aunti Mame, to Peggy Cass as Miss Gooch, in "Auntie Mame".

"He who saves a single life, saves the world entire." --Schindler's List

Actually, the best advice in the world comes from the movie Shirley Valentine, when Costas reacts to Shirley's accusation that he had...umm..."ulterior motives" for inviting her out on his boat. Unfortunately, it cannot be printed here. But it's excellent advice for those who tend to make mountains out of molehills, or compare apples to oranges.

Lester Bangs: Aw, man. You made friends with them. See, friendship is the booze they feed you. They want you to get drunk on feeling like you belong.
William Miller: Well, it was fun.
Lester Bangs: They make you feel cool. And hey. I met you. You are not cool.
William Miller: I know. Even when I thought I was, I knew I wasn't.
Lester Bangs: That's because we're uncool. And while women will always be a problem for us, most of the great art in the world is about that very same problem. Good-looking people don't have any spine. Their art never lasts. They get the girls, but we're smarter.
William Miller: I can really see that now.
Lester Bangs: Yeah, great art is about conflict and pain and guilt and longing and love disguised as sex, and sex disguised as love... and let's face it, you got a big head start.
William Miller: I'm glad you were home.
Lester Bangs: I'm always home. I'm uncool.
William Miller: Me too!
Lester Bangs: The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what we share with someone else when we're uncool.
William Miller: I feel better.
Lester Bangs: My advice to you. I know you think those guys are your friends. You wanna be a true friend to them? Be honest, and unmerciful.

Being a prior service Marine I could think of no better quote to inspire me to NOT die when I was lying in my 'almost' deathbed, suffering from Leukemia than a line from Full Metal Jacket.

Somewhat of a paraphrase:
"If you don't take care of your weapon it will not take care of you...and then you will become a dead Marine. Then you will be in a world of [hurt] because Marines are not allowed to die without asking permission."

In a sense we are all spiritual 'Marines', fighting the good fight daily in battle against principalities and powers in high places. Let us not allow the adversary to destroy our faith, thereby killing us due to our lack of preparedness, not taking care of our spiritual armor.

Another lesson this brings to mind is that of our own mortality. When we reach that point, if we have opportunity to enter into eternity slowly enough, let us prepare ourselves as best we can by leaning upon God's peace and mercy, asking His permission to enter into His bosom.
