Has the death of Pope John Paul 2 called you to conversion ?
I have seen many testimony's of people for whom the death of the Holy Father has affected them deeply and they seek to become Catholic.I am Catholic and I have a deep desire to become more holy and get more serious about my spiritual life.Anyone else feeling this way?

Re: Has the death of Pope John Paul 2 called you to conversion ?
My wife and I have struggled with our devotional life for a long time. Suddenly in the last week we have become intesely aware of our lack of prayer life, and have said a rosary together (sometimes with the little ones) every morning since, and we are committed to it. we see the difference it makes in our daily lives. There is no way this is a coincidence.

Re: Has the death of Pope John Paul 2 called you to conversion ?
Yes! Although I consider myself a devout Catholic, the death of John Paul II has inspired me to aspire to a deeper prayer life. I have come to realize (again!) how much time I have wasted in my life on insignificant activites. I have begun the daily recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet with my husband and children. I hope this will lead us to more prayer as a family and a deeper spiritual life as a wife and mother.

I did attend mass last Sunday, but I don't see myself converting.

Hello Lily Conversion in and of itself is a closer relationship with God.I am already Catholic but I have been given the grace of wanting to be closer to the Lord.BTW I am glad you went to Mass You loved the Pope as well didn't you?

My thoughts and feelings exactly, Lisa. I've had all kinds of crazy ideas that I'm not will to admit to in public, though!

Re: Has the death of Pope John Paul 2 called you to conversion ?
I am trying to follow the Holy Father's example of being kind to everyone and caring about them. I have a tendency to be quick to anger and to get annoyed/impatient with people, so I'm trying to be very mindful of those flaws. Also whenever I feel angry or impatient I try to say a little prayer to the Holy Father and ask him for help.

Re: Has the death of Pope John Paul 2 called you to conversion ?
Yeah, I would say his death has had an impact on me. Last year was when I reverted to Catholicism and I felt a great sense of conversion then, but then several months back it faded and I stopped going to church as often and doing my daily rosary. I'm not even sure what happened, but now I feel that sense of renewal again.

It has called me to finally admit to myself that God is calling me to the priesthood.

What... have you been fantasizing about the Cardinals stepping out on the balcony and announcing that you are the next Pope?

That is indeed awesome!
I personally have had a sense that I would like to someday enter the Deaconate. However, I have plenty of time to discern that, since I have five little ones and they wouldn't even take me into the program until they got a little older - not to mention we're not necessarily finished having more little ones!
