Default Prayers for My Son

Please pray for my son, Spencer. He is 22 and is addicted to a very serious drug. We thought he had quit and it came out that he hadn't. He has voluntarily checked himself into inpatient rehab. We were really blessed that he could do this because we have no insurance and we're soooo thankful for this opportunity available through the county where we live. He is taking so much responsibility and seems light years more mature than he ever has but I know it's hard. Please, please pray for him and for myself and my husband. Thank you so much.

Amie

BeluvdLily,
I am praying for your sons' recovery and for you and you husband. Very difficult situation, my heart goes out to you.

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Lord have mercy,
Christ have mercy,
Lord have mercy.

Gods peace be with you......
James

Dear Amie
I was a heavy alcoholic for years until I finally just one day
was given the grace to say no. Just before that I read the story
of Ven. Matt Talbot.
Good Psychiatry and Prayer freed me.
I will Pray for you All.

Thank you all so much. Your prayers mean the world to me. I talked to Spencer tonight and he just seems kind of down and lonely and such. As his mother I would just like to drive to where he is in rehab and sit in the parking lot just to be near him. I feel like I could sit there all night. It's just that motherly instinct that makes me want to take care of him even at 22.

And of course I feel that I've let Spencer down by not keeping him safe from problems and harm. There was really nothing that I knew to do. He is an adult. We did not know he was using (they can hide it so well).

My husband and I do not do drugs and Spencer knew we are against them. We are a close, loving family but still this happened and the devil sure knows how to attack me with guilt! I know it does not make sense intellectually that I could have stopped this but still I feel I let Spencer down. There is nothing like motherly guilt!

Still, I've prayed to the Blessed Mother to please be there with him and to take her wonderful Son with her. I know she's his mother to an even greater extent than I am.

Amie
