Default Patron Saint For A Diabetic?

Can you please let me know if there is one, and how it is???? Also, if you can, can you please, pray for my family. My husband is a type two diabetic facing amputation of a couple of fingers. It's stressful. I have an 11 and 7 year old and it's been horrible since the Saturday before Easter.

Smile Re: Patron Saint For A Diabetic?

John of God, Camillus de Lellis, Michael the Archangel I could not find a specific Saint for diabetes; BTW my wife suffers from type II. Know you are in my prayers. Stay strong; pray often.

Thank-you Mike. Does your wife suffer from poor circulation as well? It seems to be a problem with diabetics.

Her feet are always cold, we worry alot about her feet! I pray for her everynight. You know it didn't even occur to me to check into Saint's. I am new to this so thank-you too!

Red face Re: Patron Saint For A Diabetic?

Josemaría Escrivá

Dang took forever to track him down. I found out quite a few webpages are terribly out of date. Thanks SHJ

You sound like a concerned devoted husband who is a man of prayer that is more than half the battle. To add to that you may want to ask her to see a diabetic specialist every couple of months.

Please take care of them by getting them to take care of themselves. It is a visions disease that you can't see until it is too late.

Type 1 diabetics at some point can possibly receive a pancreas and kidney transplant if necessary.

Remember the body is fighting against itself. It does not absorb the insulin that it produces! So it can't absorb the additional sugars/starches that are taken in.

Watch out for the kidneys!

Saint Raphael the Archangel is a patron saint of healing and healers. He would be a good one to invoke. I would also recommend praying to your Guardian Angel.

Dear Sir or Madam, my son was diagnosed as a type one diabetic when he as 16. I was traumatized, but I have found that 8 years later he lives a normal life and is studying to be a doctor. Maybe he will take care of diabetics some day.
As a piece of earthly advice, get him an insulin pump and make sure he exercises regularly. My son went from most improved to most valuable member of the his high school track team.
Your son did not thing wrong, this is most likely a disease with inherited tendencies that may be triggered by a virus. In his lifetime there will be a cure for this I am sure.
God Bless you and your son.
