I reported the EBay listing to FoxNews. Who knows? Maybe their inquiry will spur Ebay to act......

My thought exactly. I'm almost tempted to buy it so I can take it to a Priest and have it handled appropriately. I'm not sure if that's wrong or not, but I hate to think that it would end up in the hands who would desecrate our Lord.

On the other hand, I certainly don't want to encourage this kind of activity.

I sent him an e-mail as follows:

No, I'm not going to tell you that you are going to hell.

I'm not even going to suggest that you believe what it is we Catholics believe about the Eucharist.

But I will appeal to a sense of conscience and reason. Truly, we Catholics do believe in the Eucharist as the body and blood of our Lord.

I was originally planning on appealing to you to please send it to me so that I can take it to a Priest. But then I figured you might just think I'm trying to scam you. So, instead, I am asking that you please take it to a Priest, or find a Catholic who you trust who is willing to do so.

Thanks for your consideration.

I hope that is within the bounds of appropriateness. I just can't stand the thought of it falling into the wrong hands.

From the e-mails I've gotten, you're not going to get such a nice response.

If he feels there's nothing wrong with taking it as a souvenior, then selling it, he surely isn't going to feel bad and take it to a priest.

Although I will certainly pray that he does.

That is not my concern. All I can do is try in as charitable a way as possible. The rest is up to the Holy Spirit.
