Every time I hear of some quack like Andy Rooney, I think and smile, because one day dear Andy is going to die, and when he does WOW will he be in for the BIGGEST suprise! Don't worry, God will take care of him!

Rather than gloat why don't you pray he converts? After all the man is elderly.
I mean, if the pope can forgive a psycho for trying ot kill him why cna't you folks forgive and pray for an elderly ignoramus?

Lily, I am sorry that I offended you. I know we should feel that Andy could be converted. I guess that we get so flip when it comes to the secular media because they bash us as Catholics all the time. I guess we shouldn't laugh about someone spending eternity in hell. You do know that Andy Rooney laughs about people believing in God. However, we do have to be above this. Sorry everyone!

Nevertheless, let's hope that his generation is the last to produce popular public scandalizers who (I would guess is the case for him) come from Catholic families. There are some on the right more nationalist than Catholic, though they tend to be on the right side of most controversies. I'm not sure which of the two the devil loves to use most. Hey, you know what? Many of us say bad, idle things, innacuracies (as I too often do--so don't take my word as perfectly correctly said because I sound like I know enough about something--instead of saying "I don't know") or truth not in charity often. Who are we to blame those scandalizers, but we must be aware that they are scandalizing so we can look not to the left nor to the right, but to Christ who teaches us all we need to know only through the One, Holy, and Apostolic Roman Catholic Church. Only the Catholic Church has the truth and if it seems your priest is telling falsehoods, we have a Catechism of the Catholic Church. Any of the catechisms approved by Rome in Catholic history would cover most heresies of this day. The devil also mixes truth with lies.

On the bright side, Scott has a sense of humor, Andy had a sense a humor. It's kind of like that Star Wars thing for curmudgeons. Anyone can be tempted to turn to the dark side.
