Sarah Scantlin
This is actually old news, but the story of her recovery appeared in two separate stories in our local media TV news stations within the last couple days:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/...in673281.shtml
It is too bad that this story wasn't getting more media coverage during Terri Schiavo's ordeal.

Re: Sarah Scantlin
I did read about this and a few others during Terri's ordeal. It is unfortunate that her husband was determined to see her dead.

Re: Sarah Scantlin
It's a wonderful story and certainly not the only one. But it makes me sick to think that Terri KNEW what was being done to her. So sad.

Stylteralmaldo:
We didn't hear about this because the media agreed with Michael Schiavo and wanted Terri dead, too.
If you've seen my postings on Terri's Law, please go to the article:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2005Mar22.html
If something like that had been in place in Florida, Terri's life would never have been in danger, because the court's would have been required to give custody to the relatives who wanted her to LIVE.
If you haven't done so, please contact your state legislature, as this is something that can't be passed on the Federal Level (It would be a usurpation of States' Rights).
Blessings and Peace, Michael

The courts would have been required.... Do you think Judge Greer cared what the law said? He ignored evidence and ignored a supeona issued by Congress for Terri. He would not let Florida DCF do their job and investigate 89 charges of abuse against Michael(not that DCF was doing that great of a job in the first place). Etc. etc. With that said, a law like this would be excellent in each state.

Re: Sarah Scantlin
Thanks for the information. This is not a state issue. The right to life is stated in the US Constitution....thus making it a federal issue:
Amendment V
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Unless it has been suggested that due process has been served here?
The laws of this country are broken. If they can't protect Terri, they can't protect me. It's time to scrap the constitution....or at least ammend it to limit the courts influence.
