Default Easy Chapel Veil Crochet Patterns?

Hi there,

The title says everything. Do any of you ladies (gentleman too!) know of any beginner crochet patters for chapel veils?

Thanks!

Jesus, Mercy and Love!

I've looked for a few myself. I couldn't find them.

I just did searches on the internet, looking for beginner or easy patterns.

What I could find, though, were patterns for DOILIES. I used the pattern, and when it was the diameter I was ok with, I stopped.

I think they turned out ok.

I saved them to my hard drive, but I guess I was rushing I didn't save the URL where they were found.

I don't know how to attach them, though, so I'll give you the NAME of the pattern, and if you do a search (Google, etc) it should show up.

Hope that helped.

You can take any lacy stitch pattern (in a crochet stitch compendium) and make yourself a single rectangle from it (just make sure to chain the stitch multiple indicated in the pattern).

There're also these patterns:

Triangle Shawl
you can adjust for size to fit over head

Basic formula for making a triangular headpiece or shawl

There's also this pattern from Lion's Brand Yarns:

Ch 8. Row 1: 1 dc in 6th ch from hook, ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in last ch. Turn. Row 2: Ch 5, 1 dc in first dc, ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in 4th ch of t-ch, ch 1, 1 dc in same st. Turn. Row 3: Ch 5, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in first st, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in next dc; rep from * across to t-ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in 4th ch of t-ch. Turn. Row 4: Ch 5, 1 dc in first dc, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in next dc; rep from * to t-ch, end ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in 4th ch of t-ch, ch 1, 1 dc in same st. Turn. Rep Rows 3 & 4 till you have the size you want. Fasten off.

Thumbs up Re: Easy Chapel Veil Crochet Patterns?

Here are several free patterns that I've found. I came across this post on my search for the same. :-)

http://www.spindleandwheel.com/content/view/77/144/ <-- a knitted pattern here

this one I really like but I think I will shorten it and attach it to a headband so its easy to keep in place.

Hope you get some ideas. I'm excited to try out a couple of these patterns and see what I can come up with. Good luck and God bless you and your family. :-)

Smile Re: Easy Chapel Veil Crochet Patterns?

Hi, I'm new on the forum but but not so new on ravelry.com. If you look up "traiangle shawl" you get rather nice patterns.
some (ignore the names)
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...or-night-shawl
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...iangular-shawl
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/elegant-shawl
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...everyone-shawl
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aleatha-shawl

I mean, alter the size to your needs and add a finishing trim to your preference. Obviously, weight ofyarn and hook size don't play a key part, it's up to you. If you prefer an oblong shape the stich forming the crochet fabric can be seen or if anyone needs anycrochet lace custom stitches (strawberry lace, pineaple lace and variationd, etc) I have bunch that I'd be more than glad to share. I do hope those helped!

PS. I forgot to say, I just began to rochet last year. and these aren't particularly complex ones. And one more thing, if you're after this type of shawl but want something less-lacy for some warmth or whateve the case be, ravelry has those too. I just didn't know if you wanted non-lace-stitch patterns.

Oh, as do I!!! So many wonderful, free patterns!! I started crocheting onlylast year and it was hard times on health (but the last as I found out) and crochet helped me focus and cntre myself ... I find it a great tool to aide contemplation (I normally have) after prayers or a hardship or ayb focusing on what I should pray for or do etc.

A wonderful woman, sells her yarn on etsy (Wullenstudio) who I correspond with told me about how she's in a group that goes to prisons and the inmates (male) learn to crochet and it calms them.Sorry, got off topic there!)
