Default Re: Gay Catholics Don't Expect Vatican Change

I think it's very important to be respectful when speaking of Catholic homosexuals. There are many homosexuals within the Church who are living faithful and celibate lives. They deserve our love and respect as any member of the Body of Christ. I am freqeuntly dismayed by the angry tone of judgmental people who want to lump every homosexual as a militant discentor (sp?).

The Church can never condone homosexuality any more than She can approve of artificial birth control. Human sexual intimacy without the possibility of producing a soul does not cooperate with God's plan for us and puts our own desires in front of God's plan. Then we are back to Adam and Eve's problem all over again!!! Catholic sexuality, if you will, will always include both the unitive and the procreative dimensions. This was and is God's plan for humanity.

Bless everyone who is trying to live within this plan and PRAY for those who do not understand. They are our brothers and sisters also and need our understanding so they they can be converted. Our anger just pushes them further away and gives them the impression that we do no want their salvation.

I've read and seen Christian churches in this country who have taken the rhetoric to extreme. I'm thinking of the Fred Phelps' of the world and their public attacks on and persecution of homosexuals.

In my opinion, the Church has not really addressed how Catholics are to balance homosexuality as a sin with the Church's opposition to discriminatory practices.
I think the verbal attacks on straight white men by femminists and homosexuals has been exceedingly extreme and is incomparable to the love espoused by the Catholic Church's position on homosexuality and the sanctity of marriage.

Love them, we must. All our welcome in the Church. However, it is right and appropriate to be angry with the homosexual infiltration into the Church for the purpose of changing the way the Church operates, trying to make immorality in the seminaries practically mainstream, and undercutting the moral teachings of the Church, in particular those related to marriage.

Bring me a homosexual into the Church that wants to live by what the Church teaches and I say praise God. Bring me a homosexual that wants to make the Church in their image and I say you've got a fight on your hands.
