Shows talking about Oprah pulled from archives?
I just tried to listen to shows like DOES OPRAH HAVE THE LAST WORD? and OPRAH AND THE NEW AGE when Sharon Lee Giganti was the host, and I notice that they have been replaced by other shows, despite having the same titles. Was this a mistake, or was there some sort of legal problems with CAL covering this subject matter?
thanks

I suspect they are having database problems because I have noticed the same thing on other prior shows. For example the 9/29/2008 show with Jesse Romero does the same thing, the audio has been replaced with another show.

Re: Shows talking about Oprah pulled from archives?
Similiar questions have been asked by me and others. Here are two replies from
Matt Tuszynski – Engineer – Radio Dept
Basically what has happened is this. As you may be aware back in April 2008 the FCC changed the rules and regulations regarding licensed music. Because of this change we had to change our theme song, and we had to take down all shows from the archive with the old theme song.
The other issue is the problem with some episodes not playing what they say they will. This only happens with episodes from March 31, 2007 though December 31, 2008. For some reason our server made all episodes from before 2009 unavailable, rather than just the episodes from before April 2008, and now when one clicks on the episodes ranging from March 31, 2007 though December 31, 2008 the website sees that the show is unavailable but tries to auto correct and find the most similar episode. So if you click on hour one of September 24, 2007 (ca070924a) it will auto correct for the most similar and play September 24, 2009 (ca100924a).
We are going to fix this as soon as we can. I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and concern.
I can assure you that if it is possible to make our archived shows that aired before April 2008 available on the web in the future, then we will do so. Right now we do not know when this issue will be resolved or if it will be resolved in a way that allows us to resume offering the older shows on the web. We hope that we will be able to make them available however we know that it will not be anytime soon.

Re: Shows talking about Oprah pulled from archives?
Couldn't have said it better myself.....oh wait
But yes it is not because the episode specifically related to Oprah, rather it is because of the same issues with the old episodes which we are still working on. Thanks yinekka for relaying my message.
