Idiots?
Please refrain from using terms like IDIOT STICK when referring to other people's employment.both my g/fathers were professional gardeners. the shovel was an indispensable part of their work tools. My brothers worked in various occupations which involved using shovels. They were all moral hard working men who appreciated beautiful music and art,and seen comedy in supercilious idiots who looked down their noses at people with dirt under their fingernails. They also built their own homes using shovels as well as their knowledge of plumbing ,electricity heating ,air conditioning and interior decorating ,Idiots they were not .Jamanne

You complain about medications not picked up. How would a nationalized health care system correct that? Would you force people to pick up their prescriptions, and then force them to take the medication?
Doctors write prescriptions based largely on the hard-sell by the drug companies who push their sales reps into offices. Patients get samples and the MD writes the RX. It is not in the best interest of the doctor to NOT write the RX because s/he gets compensated for them. I can tell you of hundreds, if not thousands, of patients I see who are on multiple drugs for "problems" that they discovered watching a TV ad.
What to do about fraud is to prosecute those that do this. This has never been done effectively. Stop virtually ALL mail order Medicare and Medicaid services (there is generally no reason for them, and they are ripe with abuse). Prosecute every physician, NP, Pharmacist, and anyone else that commits fraud against the system.
And there's going to be fraud in ANY system that's devised. It's human nature at work.
Physicians that overprescribe should be placed on probation, and if they continue to do this, lift their license.
See above. Look at the clown that got the Octomom imgregnated-he's just now getting a hearing to have his license lifted. Pulling a medical license is not that easy; although, it should be.
The government should provide health care to those that simply can not work (the poor aged and disabled). Anyone else that wants government health care should have either paid into it (Medicare), or be REQUIRED to perform work to get it. No free lunch at all.
I never said medical coverage should be free. It should be made more accessible to those who wish to have it and can't afford it. Believe me, those with money and good insurance get better coverage than those that don't. I've seen patients in the hospital get a code blue stopped short when it was discovered they were homeless/indigent. Those with $ get the Cadillac treatment. There is a double-standard. And, if you think that couldn't happen in this country, wake up!
The same with unemployment, etc. You get money from the government, you have to work for the government. (Not applicable to those retired government workers, those disabled by service in the Military, etc.) There is no excuse for providing 8 (EIGHT) plus years of unemployment insurance. PUT THOSE FOLKS TO WORK WITH AN IDIOT STICK (a shovel)) or doing other work. They could work to rebuild housing for the poor and elderly, build roads, work in schools, etc., etc., etc.
That's kind of cold and tough. There needs to be a degree of compassion for those who can't work. My daughter has Cerebral Palsy-should she be forced to pick up a shovel and dig roads? She can't even feed herself. Believe me, she's no idiot-she's a 3.85 GPA student. Every society since antiqity has had its share of those citizens who couldn't fend for themselves. As a Christian nation we must take care of our brothers and sisters.
There simply is no such thing as free anything. Someone has to pay for it. If the government pays for it, every working person in the country pays through taxes.

AMEN. It's salt-of-the-earth people like your men who started this country. if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be as great a nation as we are. These people are good, honest, hard-working men who do an honest day's job. How many of us can say that?

I can still see it. Maybe it was brought back or something. All I know is I was looking for a post I made last night in the news section about a Canadian couple who won the lottery and gave it all away to charity and I saw your post.

I think some of us can't see the words "healthcare" in any thread without quickly pulling out our soapbox and going where e'er the spirit moves us.

Same Capitalistic solution, why not make those jobs in the first place, the idea is to get workers to work for the "dole" saves paying them a proper wage,
Landlords and moneylenders have transferred their financial liabilities to the tenants and borrowers. those are the people who do the real work,
There is no such thing as a free lunch? there is if you collect rent and interest.

By the bye, just FYI:
When you sign up here, you (presumably) read the rules of the site....I know that I did. One of which plainly states that, if dupicate posts are made, either one may be eliminated (summarily, dontyaknow) by the mods.
I rather imagine that this is what happened to OP.
That's life, & all that.......
