Default What order does Pope Benedict XVI Belong To?

Can anyone tell me what order this new pope belongs to?

Also, I'd be willing to bet this new pope declares Medjugorie and Naju official.

He does not belong to any religious order. He is a secular priest.

None as far as I know. Clergy in orders tend to not get the papacy.

Have not heard of Naju, but I'll bet he won't declare Medj official because he has no reason to run roughshod over the local bishop's discretion in the matter.

Dear friends

Pope John Paul II was a Third Order Carmelite.

Is Pope Benedict 16th a member of a third order?

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Ratzinger was never part of an order. At least I dont think he was. He was a Diocean Priest In Germany, then Arch Bishop, and then Cardinal.
It would have stated in his bio if he was a Dominican or Jesuit or what ever. It would be there. Example: Carlo Cardinal Martini is a Jesuit. So is Cardinal Dulles. Some are Franciscans, some Opus Dei, and so on. It for sure would have been mentioned today by the priest being interviewed by the media if he was an ordered Priest.

he may decalre those apparitions auphentic, local bishops have to answer to the pope, not pope answer to them. the local bishop of Mostar is very questionable, I have no problem with him being trumped by a pope at all.
