Default Pick a Saint for the new Year

This program will randomly choose a Saint for you.

I got St Guy... I will enjoy getting to know him.

Who did you get...?

I think I need help. . .it's a little bit strange. I got St. Matthew the Apostle, who is the patron saint of accountants, bankers, bookkeepers, stock brokers etc. My aim is actually to become either of these, or an economist. I'm lost for words. Is this coincidence? Am I looking too much into things? Or is there something more to this? I never really looked into St. Matthew before.

Thanks for the link, and God bless you

St Matthew for 2011

Thank you,
Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk

I got St. John of Parma, intriguing choice for me. But his feast day falls on a Sunday this year so it gets bumped.

I got St. Leonard of Port Maurice, patron of parish missions (I just learned) and "Franciscan proponent of the Blessed Sacrament, the devotion of the Sacred Heart, and the Stations of the Cross, as well as the Immaculate Conception." Lots for me to ponder there. Thanks for the link!

I got Bl. Titus Brandsma, whose feast day is July 26, which happens to be the birthday of DH's grandfather who just passed away Christmas morning.
Also, Bl. Titus was sent to Dachau, a labor camp during WW2, a terrible place. He was killed there. My father was part of the US troops that liberated Dachau.
Very interesting. I prayed that this Saint would bring me closer to the Lord, I wonder how he will do it!

I got St. Justin Martyr. Patron Saint of apoligists and philosophers, among other things. Cool! I'm totally into apologetics. It should be interesting getting to know this Saint.
