Default Hearing someone call your name & nobody's there

What do you make of someone who wakes to someone calling their name? Could there be something spiritual about it, or is it just somebody who's overworked/overtired & with a lot on their mind?

Have you checked under your bed lately..

As far as what is causing it, that really has to be up to your discernment. It's like you said, you could be overworked, but then again it could be spiritual. Who knows?

Good luck and God Bless you

Before assigning yourself to the loony bin, did you read the thread on "sleep paralysis"? It was very informative and might go a long way to answering your questions.

Exclamation Re: Hearing someone call your name & nobody's there

Occasionally I hear somone calling my name and nobody is there, but it doesn't just happen when I wake up, it can happen any time throughout the day. It kind of creeps me out, it has happened to me since I was very young. I would say it happens once or twice every couple of months.

Just say "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening." (1 Samuel 3:10)

If someone walks up to you and asks "What did you call me?" then you know it isn't spiritual.

What would Celtic ancestery have to do with vioces? I am of Celtic ancestory, and as mentioned above, I also hear vioces. Please elaborate.

Lightbulb Re: Hearing someone call your name & nobody's there

Now I fear that you people out there will think I'm a freak but here goes anyways.

On a couple of occasions I have heard my name being called.

But the really "freaky" one is while praying the rosay one day, something that I do not really do all that often as it is one of the Latin Devotions that I really have not cultivated in my spiritual life, when I got into the second mystery I swear I could hear a woman's voice praying along with me. This did not scare me in any way, actually I felt very comfortable and at peace. This continued until the last mystery, during which it went away.

Now that I think about it, I get worried a bit.

I have heard my name called and I thought I was dreaming. But I instantly knew I wasn't as I also smelled my father's aftershave (Old Spice) and he's been dead almost 2 years now. I have had similar things happen, and I take great comfort in the fact that I have "visited" by my dad.

Yesterday upon a stair
I saw a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish that man would go away!

Dear friend

This is something that happens to alot of people. They can be anywhere and they hear their name as plain as day spoken, they look around and no-one they can see is calling them.

I believe it is God.

'I have called you by name. You are precious in my eyes. You are mine and I love you. Isaiah 43:1

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

I have also had this happen. Not a lot but a few times. A comforting voice - but odd just the same.
