Unhappy Jaw Surgery

My boyfriend has been in need of a really extensive jaw surgery since we’ve been in middle school. He and his family have been trying to put it off until he’s at least in his mid 20’s and his jaw is fully developed to do it though, and he’s 20 now. Yesterday he went to Michigan for spring break but he came home that night because he jaw was hurting so bad. Today he’s in so much pain he can’t eat or talk and he just laying on the couch crying. They gave him pain meds until later this week when he meets with the specialist, but I don’t think its working.

After the surgery he’s going to have to have his mouth wired shut for at least 6 weeks! But at this point he just wants it over with. I’ve never seen him like this before and its really hard. Obviously its nothing life threatening and he’ll be okay but still…its really difficult when someone you love is in so much pain and you can’t do anything to help them, I feel really helpless and so does his family. Please pray that he feels better until the surgery and that it goes well…and that afterwards the recovery is fast!

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Prayer to St. Anthony Mary Claret:

"St. Anthony Mary Claret, during your life on earth you often comforted the afflicted and showed such tender love and compassion for the sick and sinful. Intercede for this young man now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues in heavenly glory. Look with pity on this boy and grant his friend's prayer for his health, if it be the will of God. Make his troubles your own. Speak a word for him to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to obtain by her powerful intercession the grace that we are all asking for on this boy's behalf, and a blessing to strengthen him during all the days of his life. Assist us at the hour of death, and lead us into a happy eternity with God forever. Amen. St. Anthony Mary Claret, pray for us!"

Mary, Health of the sick, pray for us!

Lord, have mercy.
Christ have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Angel of God, his guardian dear, to whom God's love commits him here; Ever this night be at his side, to light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.

God bless.
