Default Poems that make you feel good

i thought maybe everyone could post poems they like to read to when they are feeling down to make them happy. my favorite one i have posted above my desk so i can always see it. it was written by Corey Taylor, who happens to be a singer/songwriter.

There will come a day when nothing can bring you down,
when the air is so sweet it's f***ing maddening and
the sound of concern only makes you smile, because you
are more than okay, you are bulletproof. The Powers
That Be painted a landscape today, very rustic, Van
Gogh, and dedicated it to everything that says YOU.

Some things will change, some things will mock you
with their stubbornness to remain, and some things
will come and go, cease to matter, never ring your
bells again...

You will have seventy-three 'worst days of your life'
until you come to one so horrible every breath is
pain... There will come a time to deal with ALL of
this... and so much more you won't know whether to
celebrate or break down.

Until then?

SMILE.

There's ALWAYS time for that.

Sail Too
Your love is a ship
harboured in my soul
and when it sets sail
it hauls me out to sea
to see you sail...

(Boudreau 1998)

Hold Fast To Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

from "The Road Not Taken" - Robert Frost

They sailed to the Western Sea, they did,
To a land all covered with trees,
And they bought an Owl, and a useful Cart,
And a pound of Rice, and a Cranberry Tart,
And a hive of silvery Bees.
And they bought a Pig, and some green Jack-daws,
And a lovely Monkey with lollipop paws,
And forty bottles of Ring-Bo-Ree,
And no end of Stilton Cheese.
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.

"I am the heat of your hearth,
the shade screening you from the sun;
I am the beam that holds your house,
the board of your table;
I am the handle of your hoe,
the door of your homestead;
the wood of your cradle,
and the shell of your coffin.
I am the gift of God
and the friend of man."

Blood Type Love
I rock with you to sleep, in my charge, given to keep you warm.
I sing and then I weep, my life without you would be cheap and torn.
You're strong and I am weak, I'm the shallows, you're the peak, we storm.
I'm clouds and you're sunny, blood type love, just you and me, us three

- Boudreau 2003

These are lyrics, but I think the whole song is a poem in itself...

My favorite verse:

Exposed beyond the shadows
You take the Cup from me
Your dirt removes my blindness
Your pain becomes my peace

~Jars of Clay "Frail"
