Default Neo-Catechumens

I would like to know what people thought about the Neo-Catechumen. I have seen two things throughout the Archdiocese of Hagatna. One is that people have embraced "The Way" which is what they call themselves. While others are suspiscious and have called "The Way" as divisive in parishes. I personally have seen how "The Way" has brought others to church. I have also seen how "The Way" has led to an "elitist" attitude amongst some of its members. I'd appreciate your comments.

I don't know anything about them.

After reading your message, I googled some matches and read a couple of articles. I am still confused.

On the one hand, it seems they are highly committed Catholics, actively evangelizing. That seems great to me! It seems like they are also creating a real sense of community in Christ. Another big

On the other hand, some articles mentioned "spontaneous expression" of liturgy in their Mass??? If this is another LifeTeens-type thing with liturgically-abused Masses, then I would find that offensive. And if they are creating real division within parishes, that may or may not be a problem. If it stems from some form of elitism, or actively shunning non-members, that is one thing. However, if the division occurs because they are professing genuine Catholicism and a bunch of wishy-washy cafeteria Catholics get "uncomfortable", maybe that discomfort is part of the Holy Spirit's plan.

I'll be interested in hearing what people have to say.
