Religion: FINALLY CONFIRMED!! 6/12/11 :)
Default Help me plan our convalidation :O)

It's taken a few years, but on Monday, I will meet with our Deacon to discuss how we will convalidate our marriage before my confirmation in June. : thankyou:

What are my options? We have been married for 13 years, and have four earthly children, all girls...the youngest will be baptized on Pentecost before I'm confirmed!!!! The kids want to see it, and I want them there too. Can we have it convalidated at Mass? I think I remember seeing a couple "renew" their vows on their 50th anniversary...

We didn't have a big wedding. It was perfect for us (perfect at the time)...I'm not into anything big.

Have I mentioned I'm excited????

Congratulations!

I think that having your convalidation at Mass is a wonderful idea. It would be fitting to have your parish celebrate with you. I'm sure your deacon can fill you in on the specifics.

God bless!!!

you can do it in the context of a regular scheduled Mass, you can do it very simply with just the family after a regular Mass with simple exchange of vows, you can reserve the church for a wedding outside regular Mass hours and have as simple or elaborate wedding as you wish. You can certainly have a nuptial Mass, although that is not as common. If either spouse, or most of the guests, will be non-Catholic that might be discouraged. The deacon will give you a better idea of what is the usual practice in your area. Depending on their ages the children could take some part, although witnesses have to be adults. muey romantico, congratulations.
