Default Prayer for family in crisis

Hi all - I am requesting prayers for my husband's family. They are very good Christian people, but have become somewhat "radical" in the past few years. It seems that their Southern Baptist beliefs are giving them a "holier than thou" outlook on everything.

My cousin-in-laws, who are younger than I, are struggling immensely with their judgmental parents and relatives. It has gotten to the point where some of the older family members are no longer speaking with the 20-somethings because they are not "following the Lord" (so to speak). Parents are refusing to speak to their children because they don't agree with certain decisions they are making. This has been going on for over 2 years now and it is tearing his family apart.

The older generation has become extremely control, judgmental, and demanding. I've even had it out with a few of them because they attack my beliefs and tell me how to live my life.
Please pray for them!

Lord, please bring peace and reconciliation to this family. Help the elder people in this family to know how to speak with the youngters so they can have a positive influence on their lives. Please help open up communication again and help the elders to speak with gentleness and charity; also help the youngsters to listen to any good and necessary gentle admonishments with solicitude for their own souls. Grant the youngsters patience, strength and meekness whenever their elders speak to them wrongfully. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.

Lord, please bring healing to this family. Help them not to turn their backs on their loved ones, and to look at them and see your Son.

Be with your daughter, too, Lord, as she prays for her husband's family.

We ask this through Jesus your Son.

Praying for your intentions….

Lord Jesus, You have said,
"Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart."
With confidence in Your loving heart
which offers rest to weary souls,
we come to You in this time of special need.
In Your unfailing love,
read the prayer that is written on our hearts,
and grant the grace that we ask of You,
in accordance with Your holy will.
In Your name we pray.
Amen.
