Really? That Soon?
It's still long before we will be finished paying off our debt on this side of the pond

Re: 600 trillion years from now....
It is my understanding that eternity doesn't relate to time. Time is a construct of the material world. Maybe 600 trillion years will pass before the Second Coming, but once that happens and we enter 'eternity' (or at any point along them when we personally die), we will no longer experience time or 'years' but rather an endless sort of 'now'.

Re: 600 trillion years from now....
If scientist say our Sun is 5.2 billions years, approx half way through its lifespan cycle known as a white/yellow star. This means in another 5.5 billion years our Sun will become a Red Giant Star. Most Red Giant Stars have a lifespan of 300-500 million years and go Supernova. In six billion years our know Solar System could be history.
Gee; 600 TRILLION Years. I can't count that high.
A short leisurely walk in the galactic park for God who reigns inside and outside of His creation of Relative Time.
Who knows? In 15 Trillion years from now our known Universe may not even exist as it implodes in upon itself.

It's a marvelous thought that our soul will transcend and go on, to grow in the glory of God for all eternity.
God bless,

While others will have been burning in Hell for 600 trillion years and still have eternity to go. I absolutely shudder at the thought.

Too bad we'll need another 600 trillion or so to pay off the Bush Debt.

Re: 600 trillion years from now....
I don't think it's wise to presume what I'll be doing in the after life (no matter how many millions of years) because I would first have to presume whether I'm going to heaven or hell.
On the other hand, were I to have found some obscure secret to eternal earthly life (and perhaps youth), I'd probably would have witnessed the rise and fall of over a hundred empires, governments, monarchies. For all I know, we'd have long colonized other galaxies and I'd probably be on a different, distant planet continuing my endless observation of our race till the very end of time.

Re: 600 trillion years from now....
I don't think anything God creates ever comes to absolutely nothing, in a physical sense that is.. The mortal body when it dies eventually turns to dust which is tiny particles, and even when the Earth is burned up the atoms of what was us will be there somewhere. As our soul and spirit soars in the place meant for it in heaven.

You don't believe in the resurrection of the body as is stated in the Apostle's Creed?

Yes, I do. I believe when Jesus returns all will be changed 'in the twinkling of an eye' and we shall rise up to meet him in our new glorified body. It will be a spiritual body.

I don't believe it will be just a spiritual body since Jesus was physically resurrected in his former body with his wounds still visible, was touched by Thomas and possibly other of the Apostles, and also Jesus ate food with his resurrected body:
Quote:
|
They were still talking about all this when he himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you!" In a state of alarm and fright, they thought they were seeing a ghost. But he said, "Why are you so agitated, and why are these doubts rising in your hearts? Look at my hands and feet; yes, it is I indeed. Touch me and see for yourselves; a ghost has no flesh and bones as you can see I have." And as he said this he showed them his hands and feet. Their joy was so great that they still could not believ it, and they stood there dumfounded; so he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?" And they offered him a piece of grilled fish, which he took and ate before their eyes.
