I can second a lot of what some posters already said.
I honestly don't think there is a single female comic out there that I like. I am racking my brains. I find them all similarly annoying, grating, unoriginal, arrogant, and idiotic. Kathy Griffin, Sandra Bernhard, Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler, Wanda Sykes.....
And I'm a woman. So it's not that I'm sexist or something. I'm also not easily offended at all, so that's not it. I mean, I can enjoy Ricky Gervais and Bill Maher by looking past the offensive stuff and seeing the humor. I don't know what it is, but I just can't stand the female comedians today.
Dane Cook-annoying, juvenile, low brow, not funny at all
Tosh-also annoying
Gilbert Gottfried-I can't even listen to what he's saying because his voice makes me want to tear my hair out.
Can't think of any more at the moment...

Thought of another one no one has mentioned, Russell Brand.

Not really a comedian.

Yeah, Brand's pretty unfunny. And the "Arthur" remake he made recently was beyond awful.
The only thing "good" I find about him is that he married Katy Perry, who's too secular and MTV-created but genuinely HOT.
Had forgotten about this thread. Interesting that it was revived.

Stereotypes CAN be funny, if done in the right way. And can be used to make a point.

Yeah she is pretty, better looking than he is. But I think the ways both of them "entertain" (she by singing, dancing, he with his comedy) are similarly low brow, you know, singing about kissing a girl, making fun of waiting until marriage for sex, etc.
Not to say I don't enjoy some Katy Perry songs. I like some of her more benign songs, and can see past a few innuendos if I enjoy the melody. Russell Brand, however, just annoys me non-stop.

Yes, Perry can be very low-brow and tasteless. That's why I said she is too "secular" and MTV-cretaed." That basically is synonymous with "tasteless," and "immoral" nowadays. Like you, I prefer some ofthe songs-------most of her videos are well beside the pale of Catholic/Christian morality, though. Facially and bodily very attractive, though.
Ironically, she is the second of three children born to a Fundamentalist Minister. In fact, she made a totally Christian record when she was in her teens. Later, left Christianity and went totally secular and MTV/Music industry. (Too bad). Also, she is actually named Katie Hudson-----but changed the last name for obvious reasons. Changed it to Perry, her mother's maiden name. All very interesting and ironical.
All of these are MY opinions, of course.

Hi there,
As you know, there's quite a militant atheism (the so-called 'new atheism') nowadays. Here's a reaction to one of its outcomes: the 'documentary' Religulous, with Bill Maher, criticized from different angles. Watch it here if you like:
