Help with Girl Names
Anyone want to help with girl names? We have two that we like, Julia and Corinne, but need some middle names (saint names please!) Any suggestions?
We have Julia Rose or Corinne ??
Thanks

Re: Help with Girl Names
I like Julia Rose or Julia Marion. I know that's not the typical spelling, but I'm partial to it because Marion was my paternal grandmother's name -- she died when my dad was 16, so I never knew her. Marion is my confirmation name (a nice homage to Mary and my grandmother who supposedly I am just like.) You could always go with the more popular spelling, Marian.
I never got to choose middle names for our girls. In my family, my mother and her aunts weren't given middle names, and when they married they used the first letter of their maiden name as a middle initial. My parents carried on the tradition with my sisters and me (my brothers have middle names). DH and I carried on the tradition with our daughters (our son has a middle name). It's different, but we like it.
A few more ideas (sticking with Julia):
Julia Elizabeth
Julia Anne
Julia Catherine
Looking forward to your announcement and decision!

Julia Therese?
I didn't know there was a saint Julia until I was at the local Catholic goods store and saw a Saint Julia medal.

Re: Help with Girl Names
Julia Marie
(If possible always name a girl after the Blessed Mother. I think your choice of JULIA sounds especially nice with Marie rather than Mary.)

Re: Help with Girl Names
wonderful names Belle and jediliz! I like them so much I've used them already! lol I have not used Marion, but I do love the idea of using another variation of Mary. (Two girls have Mary or a variation and one with her mother's name, Ann) Growing up, everyone had the name Marie or Maria as a middle name. I always saw it as the name people gave because it fits with everything, kind of like how men give roses when they can't think of another gift. They love you, but not too creative. lol
Julia Corinne or Corinne Julia would be nice, but I'd like a stronger saint's name along with them. I thought Julia was only Blessed, and it is the Episcopalian's who have declared her Saint? I could be wrong, but was left with this thought after a discussion with my Episopalian SIL a few years ago. (She wanted to substitute a prayer to "St. Julia" for the Hail Mary when teaching her daughter the Rosary for her DH ) So needless to say, I don't have a strong pull to her (sorry!)

Re: Help with Girl Names
My SIL recently used the middle name Rae (Ray) for a girl after Saint Raymond Nonnatus
Corinne Rae sounds nice. (Assuming I have the right pronunciation ).
I also like Grace or Faith after Corinne, but those aren't saints.
Or I kind of like Corinne Justina after Justin Martyr
A question would be if you like the sound of a rhyming name or if you are trying to stay away from that.

Re: Help with Girl Names
thanks for the link to the Saint Julia's. I'll have some reading to do.
NSFrame...thanks! Corinne is my DH's favorite right now, yet her rejected it 4 babies ago!! Sometimes a name just fits. I just wish we could find a middle name that "fits." Nothing seems right.
Hmm...Faith, Hope...those are good! I'll run them by DH

WOW! What a list!! Thank you!! I say Cor- EEN, but I'm a transplant to the area where every one pronounces it Cor-INN. I know she'll get both.. My aunt is actually Mary Corinne, but I've already used two of her children's names and she'll think I'm stalking her if I keep it up.
I love Elisa, Bernadette and Miriam! Thank you so much for the great list!
Great names Leonie! We've used Francis, Ann and Therese for middle names as well.
I like Veronica, but can't use anything with a "KA" sound at the end as it sounds really funky with our last name. Monica has always been one of my favorites, so I'm hoping my girls get a normal last name and can use it.
Thanks for all the help! I'm writing down my fav's and will show them to DH. Please keep them coming if you have them!!
